The Tsurumi HS2.4S is a 1/2 hp, single‑phase submersible trash pump built for dewatering applications where muddy water, sand, and small solids are present. It uses a semi‑vortex urethane impeller and a shaft‑mounted agitator at the suction inlet to suspend settled solids, reducing clogging and maintaining consistent flow. The pump typically has a 2‑inch discharge and is commonly used in construction, rental fleets, utility work, and general site drainage where durability and portability are important. The HSE2.4S is essentially an HS‑series pump fitted with an integrated electronic level sensor or float/automatic control package (depending on exact variant), so it can start and stop automatically based on water level. Functionally, the hydraulic end is very similar to the HS2.4S, but the HSE2.4S is aimed at applications where you want unattended operation in pits, sumps, or tanks. The HSZ2.4S version incorporates a different style of automatic level control, typically a compact, built‑in float or cylindrical level device mounted directly to the pump, creating a slimmer automatic package than a loose float on a long cable. The wet‑end performance remains broadly comparable to the HS2.4S, but the HSZ2.4S is optimized for automatic stop/start in tighter or more confined sumps where a standard tethered float might tangle or require more space. In practical terms, you would select the HS2.4S for manual or externally controlled operation, the HSE2.4S when you want automatic control with an external‑style sensor, and the HSZ2.4S when you need a compact, built‑in automatic pump for limited spaces.
